The flat die pellet mill utilizes a flat plate or disk to form the pellets, and the plate is called a “flat die”. The flat die of pellet mill has many holes drilled through it, and these holes are where pellets are extruded by the pressing of roller.

The D-type of flat die pellet mill means its die rotates rather than roller (which is different from R-type pellet mill).
